Hypertension accompanied by visceral damage that threatens short-term vital prognosis (hypertensive emergency), particularly in cases of :
- Hypertensive encephalopathy.
- Left ventricular decompensation with pulmonary edema.
- Cardiological emergencies: acute pulmonary edema, asystole.
- Severe sodium retention of cardiac, renal, or cirrhotic origin.
- Radiology of the lower urinary tract and « wash out » test with furosemide.
- Can be used in pediatric reanimation.
