Medistar contains an active substance called zoledronic acid. It belongs to the class of medications called bisphosphonates and is used for:
- Treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and in men.
- Prevention of clinical fractures after hip fracture in men and women.
- Treatment and prevention of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in men and women.
- Treatment of Paget's disease of bone (Osteodystrophia deformans).
